BT limits this product in immeasurable ways. There must be a way to extend the range of a button (even when paired to a hub). I get about 40 ft when factoring in walls in my house.

This is the failing of all bluetooth sensors/gadgets. Inside a house (with walls, obstacles, and interference) you lose signal pretty fast. They need a cheap BT repeater/range extender to extend coverage through the entire house.
