Use in theatre, how can I make my screen flicker?

I am an actor and I am planning to use my Flic as button to control music, light and other things in a new performance.
My macbooks screen is shared on a projector on the stage and I use it as a part of the show. It is a horror performance and at one point when I am on the other part of the room I would like to use my Flic to make the screen "flicker" in some strange way, like something is wrong with their computer or projector, to then go back to normal.
Does anyone know of a way of a plugin that could make this happen?
