Can’t open Flic buttons. Help!
-
I’ve had flic buttons for ages but no matter what I try, I can’t get them to open when the battery runs out. All the guides and videos say it’s easy, just stick them down and twist the top but on all of mine the glue is so weak that the button twists off the surface before the top unlocks.
I can’t keep replacing the buttons, they’re far too expensive. I need help changing the batteries. Can anyone offer any advice or tips?

@garryjoss @andy-henderson Depending on when you purchased your Flics we did have an adhesive a while which became quite soft over time which made it a bit more difficult to open the battery hatch.
All Flic adhesives have always been washable, so you can carefully clean them with water to freshen up the adhesion. You can rub them with water and maybe even some dishsoap and let it air dry. Don't hold it under water as water may enter and damage the electronics.
Other alternatives are as Andy mentioned, you could use a scissor if you're careful.
We have since changed the adhesive, the latest version is much better than the previous. The adhesives are available separately on our shop.
Feel free to contact our support and we're happy to help you further if none of the above works!

@garryjoss Same issue here. I purchased a watch back opening tool. There're available all over the place. If you look at the back of the buttons you'll see two indents just like a watch back and this device makes it easy to open them.
I've also used a pair of scissors, but that's not so easy.
When refitting, just make a small enough turn to keep the button together. Hopefully, you'll be able to replace the battery using Flic's suggested method next time.
