Write your own flic app without having the flic app installed

According to the documentation you need the original flic app in order to get your own app to work with flic. Is there absolutely no way to have your own app work with a flic button without having the original flic button installed?
We are writing a retailer app where one can order something by pressing the button (aka Amazon Dash Button). However, for a consumer it is not pleasant to have two apps installed ... (customer app + flic app).

There is a way, but only with custom buttons that you can order from us - go to flic.io/business to read more.
With Flic 2, the Flic App will not be needed.
