I know this question was asked, but the answer only mentioned battery life and connection when the phone was in range. How does Active v Passive pertain to the buttons if you are using a hub?

Passive mode works the same on the hub and on the phone. When in passive mode, Flic disconnects after some time of inactivity in order to save battery. If this was the reason for a disconnection, the Flic will not retry to reconnect until you press it again.
