Uk sms charge
-
Hi. I have set up my flic2 button to send a text message to activate and deactivated my house alarm, fantastic, but... I’m getting an international sms charge of £0.20 each time, on my android mobile phone bill. I thought the system uses my mobile plan. Why am I getting charged an international text charge. And anyway around this.

Thank you for your help. For some reason when I use your sms service my alarm sends an international sms confirmation??? Using the Flic2 and IFFFT I have found a solution. Fantastic product btw. Regards

@bastindavid Google Play no longer lets us use the built in sms feature, using your own sim card since they are afraid that the app might send sms messages without the user's consent. Therefore we use a cloud service for sending sms messages currently.
If your alarm sends a response to the sending number I suggest you to turn this off.

@bastindavid phone, flic button, categories, communication, text message.
And what is odd, the receiving alarm account is being charged for an international txt, not the sending mobile.
The alarm is sending an international text after it receives the txt sent through the Flic app. -
@Emil 3.8.1

@bastindavid and what app version number is that? You can see it under Settings in the Flic app. And exactly what is the name of the action in the Flic app you have set up to send sms?

@Emil Hi. I’m using the latest Flic app from Playstore, Android Sony Xperia, Phone setting, test message. Oddly when I test the set up, and use a different mobile number I don’t seem to be charged for an international sms.

@bastindavid this seems strange. Which app version do you use? And exactly which flic action are you using?
