Hub Mini without SDK - how to connect to Home Assistant?
-
Now that I received my Hub Mini just yesterday, I realized that it does not support the SDK. As my smart home is all Home Assistant, I wonder if I bought the Hub mini for nothing. Any hints?
Joachim
PS: I know, I probably could have found out about the lack of SDK support, but when I supported the Twist + Mini on Kickstarter, I wasn't using the SDK yet.

@abboberg Thx, and I do know that and used it in the past. I guess I forgot about this one. So much for remembering things. Of course, this means I need to configure each and every butten separately by hand instead of using the SDK for the whole hub.
Thx anyway!

@flic-r From the app you can send http-POST-request, which can be triggered by a webhook in HomeAssistant.
That is my current workaround
(with FlicHubLR with SDK but without Twist-commands) -
Exactly the same issue here. Ordered a few minis to get better reception than when using a single hub but everything for me is connected to Home Assistant. I should have, but hadn't noticed that the hub mini doesn't have the SDK.
This repo is GPL licensed, but it should be an easy template to implement Home Assistant support via MQTT, but not being able to use the SDK on the mini makes it useless:
https://github.com/id628/flic2hassIf the hub would be able to connect to MQTT and publish events it wouldn't even need to add the HA Discovery stuff, we would be able to do that ourself.
Smart home devices like these should have first class MQTT support nowadays.

I was very dissapointed when I recieved my hub mini and flic twists yesterday that I can not use them with home assistant in the current state. This makes them basically unusable to me in my current setup.
Is there any plan to add the hub mini to the sdk? And is there any plans to add the twists to the sdk? This seems like basic stuff that it should have, never mind not having home assistant integration to begin with.
