I too had to resort to the scissor (or needle-nose pliers) trick on my Flic 2's to get them open. I'm not sure if this is a manufacturing tolerance problem or something else, but none of mine have come open "easily" as depicted in the documentation/videos.
Unfortunately since changing networks requires re-initialing the bulbs, it's hard to say if any of this is due to the latest LIFX firmware, or the change of WiFi provider, or some issue with the hub.
I have a second LR Hub which had never been set up with the LIFX bulbs, that also found only the same 2 bulbs (But did so from a different access point on the same WiFi network).
Later on when I tried again it's now seeing 4 bulbs.
All 8 of the bulbs are online, all of them can be controlled via LIFX Cloud (which is my fallback for now, but the increased latency from the Flic press is significant).
On the LIFX forums I see mention that bulbs running the new firmware might take longer to respond to network requests, I've not had a chance to see if there's any correlation between the devices that do and don't shut up.
I'd been happily using my Flic Hub LR with my LIFX lights via LAN for a while, but a recent WiFi network change means i've had to re-register all of the LIFX Bulbs onto a new network along with the Flic Hub, since then when I hit Reload LIFX Bulbs it's only finding 2 of the 8 bulbs.
When I look at my WiFi console I see all of the bulbs connected to the same SSID as the hub, most of them to the same Access Point.
I initially tried just refreshing the existing bulb list, then when that failed I removed all of the bulbs in the list then tried again, and only 2 came back.
Is this a known issue (I noticed another post from January with a similar issue)
Is there any way to tell the provider the MAC addresses of the bulbs directly?
The LIFX devices are a variety of the A19, Mini, and Strip - (The 2 that show up are one Mini and one A19).
The hub is on firmware 3.0.12
The WiFi network is a UniFi mesh (Several AP's, but the hub and most of the devices are connected to the same one).
