With OSC you can do much more. I guess you found all the commands you can use in the QLab website?

You have two other options as well:

Make your flic a MIDI controller, and connect it to Qlab.
It's a bit annoying to connect it to the mac though...

Instead of looking for the Flic in the bluetooth settings, you should open "Audio MIDI Setup", and go "MIDI Studio".
(If it's not showing it, go to "window" and "show MIDI Studio".

Then you click in the little bluetooth logo and choose your Flic there.

It's funny how many times it disconnects itself...

Another simple way is to simple set your Flic as a keyboard, and choose it to reproduce a Space bar.
Then connect to it as a bluetooth device and that's it.
The thing about this is that you need to make sure that QLab is the program running in front of all the others, otherwise the space bar doesn't control it...
