@ggiese if it lights up for half a second after you insert the battery it should be functional. If it does not light up when you press it later it means it is connected to something. Try to take it to a place where there are no BLE devices nearby and press it.

Multiple users reported Flics that went through entire washing cycles when forgotten in pockets.

Personally had one Flic sitting outdoors, faced up, for exactly 1 year. This is Sweden and we have rough winters and a lot of rain. Apart from battery corrosion with a change of battery Flic was still fully functional.

Flic has also been (again unofficially) tested under water, still fully functional. Obviously Flic won't work when under water, but good to know that it should survive if accidentally dropped in water.

I'm not sure how to answer your question. I've got 4 presently. I suggest starting with just one, then once you've gotten familiar with it, figure out where else you'd want one.
