@amir I strongly disagree that the battery hatch comes off easily by simply pushing the tip of a screwdriver towards the center of the Twist, especially with the typical angle of a small flathead bit. There is a certain finesse to it; I have to "dig" out the hatch after releasing the catch. Maybe if you happen to have exactly the correct size implement, it would be easy. I have seen a lot of battery hatches over the last half century, and regardless of what design constraints you may have had with the Twist, there must be a better way to have done this.

@tnx While the Flic team has explained how this is by design, if you have a specific use that requires a button on the hub give you feedback on your phone, such as a sound, I can suggest a third party app such as Pushover.

It’s somewhat technical, but once everything is setup, you can create a URL that is launched in the background by the Flic hub (Internet Request) which then generates a popup on your iPhone. The sound, priority, message, and icon for this popup can be customized for each button if desired.

And, if a friend or family member will install the Pushover app on their phone, you can use your buttons to send notifications to them too.

Pushover is a small $5 one-time fee per device with a 30-day free trial. It’s been immensely valuable for me.

@hugo-pc hi, I got a few twists and setup was quick and easy for controlling Sonos. But then when I upgraded the Sonos firmware, the twist and all of the flic buttons stopped working. All of these flics are connected to Hub LRs.

The issue is now fixed, flic pushed a new firmware to the Hub LR. It is now on version 4.2.13.

The Twist only supports being connected to the hub. We have currently no plans adding direct Twist support in our phone apps. The reason is that we need a "stable" connectivity link between the Twist and the accessories so that we can provide a good low latency customer experience and correct LED behaviour. iOS for example has very strict capabilities when the app is in the background.

@liam_swan89 Our SmartThings integration works in the way that it fetches the scenes from SmartThings. You can then trigger these scenes from Flic (or Flic Twist) over the cloud.

For Flic Twist, you can trigger such scenes either by its push button, or using the "Action" feature which means a specific scene is triggered when the twist is rotated to a certain position.

@jochemr That "Flic App" plugin in Homey is not an official one by us. It appears to simply set up a web hook which can then be triggered as a normal http request.

We already have our own Homey integration directly inside the Flic app which is able to execute scenes/flows in a Homey, by authenticating the Homey user inside the Flic app.

If you have a Flic hub, then clicking the button will still work if the person with the phone leaves the house.

Currently, there is no good way to connect a Flic button directly to the Homey device. We did some attempts some time ago together with Homey but their Bluetooth stack was not good enough to handle triggering devices.

@Emil Great thanks - that solved it, for some reasons Updates where disabled for the flic app on my device.
When enabled I got the new version, and my Twist showed up as expected.

Hi, If the buttons are failing, you most likely have a bad battery that needs replacement.
For the LED colors, this is what they mean when clicked:

2x red pulse (No Pairing exists): The button is brand new and has not been connected to anything 2x yellow pulse (Pairing exists): The button is trying to connect to a previously paired device 1x green blink (Button even has been delivered): All is good and action successful 1x green blink, 2x red blink (Button event has been delivered but the battery is running low): All is good but will soon need new battery 3x red blinks (Button booted): If this happens when the button pressed, it could be a low battery or glitchy battery connection. Make sure to insert a healthy battery and make sure it has good contact with the pads

As for black buttons, unfortunately, no longer sell or produce them. There are no know plans of bringing them back. We'd have to and see what happens in the near future.

@andrew-1 Sending several pre-produced review units to Youtubers was to showcase these products in action with your trusted Youtube reviewers of tech products. This has always been the case with our other existing products as well.
That being said, backers are currently receiving their units, the factory is ramping up production, our warehouses are fulfilling orders, and these review units will not affect the shipping and fulfilment of backers pledges.

I tried already your solution but missed the fact I had to disconnect the button from the android flic application and then reconnect with BT of the tablet itself. Perfect and again many many thanks !!!

@normshige Apple has made some rearrangements in the Home app. Could you go in and see if they are located in the "Default room"?

@snorre-svendsen After a recent round of updates from Apple, buttons are again showing up in «Default room».

@Smellyglove I understand it like you want a Flic button action to trigger a computer (far, far away..) via Ethernet? I would probably set up a HTTP request command from the Flic to an endpoint. Directly or via a server, or maybe an websocket connection.
