Buttons not appearing in Homekit
-
@samjay You're a legend. That was absolutely the problem; the buttons were indeed showing in Default. Thanks

@a-j-towler Hi! I have reached out to you through our support system (aka email), it's a bit easier to communicate there

@oskar h. 3 days spent on this, Apple have invested about 5 hours. Factory reset numerous times. Set up new home in HomeKit. Factory reset Apple TV. Finally managed to get some buttons showing. Couldn’t get them to work though. I love the idea of these buttons though the integration with HomeKit isn’t fit for purpose.

@a-j-towler Could you try one last thing: factory reset of the Flic Hub. To truly re-do the HomeKit pairing, the only way is unfortunately is to factory reset the Flic Hub. You can do this by locating the pin hole button underneath the LED. Using a pin or needle, press and hold this button for 10-15 seconds. Upon releasing, the LED should blink to indicate reboot and you need to re add your button and now get a chance to pair this to HomeKit.
Very sorry for having to ask you to do this, but if this does not work, I strongly encourage you to file a bug report to Apple in order to escalate this issue within Apple.

@oskar system details as follows………
iOS version 16.4.1
Apple TV OS 16.4.1 running on Apple TV 4K(A2843)
Flic hub firmware 3.0.12 -
@oskar Hi, that's correct, they are not appearing in any of the rooms
-
@a-j-towler Hi! I just want to double confirm that the Flic is not appearing in any of the rooms listed in the menu in the top right corner (see image).
-
Same (very frustrating) problem here. I've just purchased a hub and buttons. I've added the flic hub, updated the firmware. Also updated the flic app. The flic hub is shown under Apple home as a hub. I've added a button to HomeKit (slider is across) and HomeKit actions are showing for Push, Double Push and Hold. However the button is not appearing in HomeKit. I've checked that it is not appearing in 'default room' as found by other users. I've removed the flic hub from HomeKit and reset with no joy.
I've contacted support though not had a response yet.
Any clues please?
So frustrating for a box fresh item! -
@Smurfhunter I too had this issue - turns out the flic buttons were being added to a room called 'default room' which is only visible when clicking in the home app on the three dots in the upper right. Scroll down and see if you have a 'default room' as well. I have no idea why or how they get added there.
More frustrating too is when you do see them there - they are arbitrarily named flic and some numbers. This is an issue if you choose to add a few buttons to HomeKit at the same time. Then you have zero clue as to which button is assigned to which name!
I sure wish Flic responded better to these questions. Such a great product but they need to be more involved with their users.

@oskar Hi.. this was absolutely the issue. I had assumed it would appear under one of the rooms on the main home view screen. However the way it adds it to HomeKit is as a default with “add to home view” toggled off.. very simple really. Really appreciate everyone’s help! Thank you

@Smurfhunter Hi!
First of all, sorry to hear you are having issue. Just one more thing I wanted to check:
Sometimes the Flics end up in a specific room instead of under the main "Home" section.If you press the top right menu (circle with 3 dots), the "rooms" should appear in the bottom of this menu, if you have any. Could you check if the Flics are in any of these rooms? If you find them there, you can press & hold them and select "Add to Home view" to have them show up in your Home apps main section.
If this does not work, could you give us some details on your setup:
iOS version
HomePod/Apple TV OS version and modelSorry for the inconvenience!

@Emil Hi.. thanks for getting back to me..
I’ve definitely used the slider in the switch over to HomeKit. All the actions say HomeKit
On the hub.. am I meant to see it in the main dashboard for HomeKit.. as I can only see it under the Bridge / Hub section under settings. If you go into this it’s just the detail for the hub and the option to remove the bridge from home.
I even setup a new home in HomeKit to check it wasn’t that.. same thing.. added the hub to the bridge but despite adding all three buttons I couldn’t see anything on the dashboard.
Any ideas?

@Smurfhunter not sure if this is your issue but I've heard people saying the Home app is not intuitive. You need to manually go in under the hub icon in the Home app to list the associated buttons. Also make sure you have selected "add to homekit" slider in the flic app.
