Hi! Just wanted to let you know that OSC is now released for the Flic Hub SDK:

I started to make an Home Assistant Integration a while ago. You can find it here: https://github.com/JohNan/home-assistant-flichub

I never completed it completely but I think it should work partially at least.

It uses a TCP connection for communication that has to be setup on the Flic Hub. A linked repo is available in the above repo.

I also just noticed that Flic have released a MQTT client which should make it a lot easier to create an HA Integration. I might give it a shot to convert this one to using MQTT instead.

If you don't configure WiFi on the hub, it should not emit any WiFi signals as far as I know... Do you see something different?

@Emil we have to login unsing our computer credentials, so same username and password as for logging in on a computer. There also is a certificate on first wifi connection, that has to be trusted.

Okay, that's a shame but thanks for answering.

Maybe a suggestion for the next iteration of the hub?

QLab is listening for osc on port 53000, and osc message is /cue/{cue_number}/go
Here is the dictionary, if it helps.

      https://qlab.app/docs/v5/scripting/osc-dictionary-v5/

For our use in the theatre, I think we'll mainly use this message. And then put buttons around for the actors to push.

@macopoulos we released the hub sdk a few years ago. You can find it here: https://flic.io/flic-hub-sdk

@steve-2 Do you have Flic 1st generation buttons or Flic 2? They have different number of LED colours and behave differently.

On Flic 2, the button will blink two short red blinks when pressed and connected if the battery voltage is low, in that case please try to insert a newer battery.

It sounds like a good idea to add an option to disable certificates. We already have that in the Internet Request action in the Flic app. I'll add it to our todo list.

The hub sdk is just a "static site" so you should be able to download the relevant files and host it from your own computer.

@paul-j-houghton you know you should be able to set a static ip in your router using mac bindings? That's how I achieved this 🙂

@Emil I managed to check the battery and it was still at 85%+

I have disconnected and reconnected from the system and hopefully that will resolve it.

@Brooke generally we update the hub and apps at the same time when we have a new feature, so you can check the changelog in the apps.

@alces as you can see on https://superuser.com/questions/1581627/where-is-my-lan-hostname-stored, hostnames on the LAN is not really a "basic feature of networking" since there are like four different "standards" for that. Currently, the only thing you should rely on is that you use a FQDN that the DNS resolver the DHCP server gives the hub will resolve.
